10-01-01 Thomas Forrest has been transferred to the Investigation's Division
Lieutenants slot. He was transferred for career development with sights on the next Captain position.
10-01-01 Larry Marx is involved in the Olympics. They have established the Utah Olympics Public Safety Command (UOPSC), they have a website http://www.uopsc.org and are soliciting volunteers. They have worked with several agencies to obtain volunteers but several are now reducing their commitment due to military call ups and other problems. Larry  will check with the UOPSC command and see if they need more officers and how or if they would be paid.

The FBI NA Associates gave completely re-done the web site.  Class members can create a login, search sessions databases and update their own profiles.
09-16-01 Donald Alleman has reversed his decision and has decided to run for a succeeding term as chief.  So unless you have a really GOOOOD paying offer for Don he is staying put.
09-12-01 An email:  With the nation's tragedy we just got this website. Ralph Reese of course is working 12 hours with the increase security at airports.

Last week we buried his mother, who had been ill. This was his last parent.
It has really been a difficult time for us.

08-29-01 Lynn Ferrin has retired from the FBI and relocated with his old partner to Orlando, Fl as of June 15th (hopefully not swimming with the sharks still). He is in the security consulting business and can be contacted at lynnferrin@msn.com.  
08-20-01 Don Alleman has been elected as President of the Louisiana Association of Chief's of Police on July 21,2001 and the term runs through July 21, 2002.
08-06-01 Chuck Allen was promoted to Major and assigned to the Uniform Bureau as a Division Commander of the Santa Fe Division on the south side of Oklahoma City.
08-06-01 Michael Andretti (yes the race car driver) had the unfortunate opportunity to race head-on against our Brent Lee in an Indy Car virtual reality game at the APCO Conference in Salt Lake.  Well while Brent kicked his drives seat most of the race, Michael had a few tricks up his sleeve that is common racing, not police driving.  Brent recovered from the spin out but fell behind in the race.
07-14-01 Norm Cullen is now married and many of the 198th Grovietes went to the  ceremony to pass on honorary Groviete status to Norm's new in-laws.
06-18-01 Matt Capadona was appointed as Chief of Police of the South Euclid Police Department. Boy I'll bet his staff meetings are fun. Congratulations to Matt.
05-11-01 There is a new Chief in Harlingen Texas...Michael Blake. On September 17, 2000, he left his position as Assistant Chief in Garland, Texas and was appointed Chief of Police in Harlingen, Texas. It is a community of approximately 65,0000 residents located in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. They enjoy a year round tropical climate with palm trees, wild native parrots and the beautiful waters of Padre Island in the Gulf of Mexico. The department has 116 officers. 05-11-01 Don Alleman is looking for new employment opportunities. He is available for conferences and  interviews at any time. Currently he has 1 year and 7 months left in Crowley as Chief of Police. Although he is am elected, the term ends December 31, 2002 and  he is not seeking a third term. he prefers something close to home, would like the Gulf Coast area, but is open and can move anywhere basically. 02-26-01 Major Kvenlog or Kevan to us is preparing for a move to Okinawa, Japan this summer. Although it is not official yet, he had been Identified as Provost Marshal, Marine Corps Bases Japan.  Congrat's to Kevan.
02-26-01 Robert Kenney was promoted to Lieutenant at East Orange Police in August.  He has been so busy that he never got around to letting us know about his promotion.   Congrat's Bob.
01-19-01 Victor Rivera wanted us to keep Jimmy Perdue in our thoughts. As you may have heard, 7 convicts escaped in Texas and killed an officer on Christmas eve in Irving, Texas. Jimmy Perdue is an Assistant Chief and slain Officer Hawkins was under his command. Victor asks that we all be careful and we all hope that these killers will soon be captured.
01-16-01 Hanneke Brouwer will be participating in a 3 month internship at the Philadelphia Police Department.  Any classmates finding themselves in the area can contact her via Ray Hallman.  The program will run from Feb 1 to April 29, 2001.
